SSC failed students announce to take to the streets

Recently, the results of the SSC and equivalent examinations were published. 6 lakh 660 students failed in this. A part of them have demanded an urgent supplementary examination for those who failed.

They have announced a protest on the streets including a human chain program in front of the education board offices of all departments on Monday (July 14) to achieve their demands.

The program was announced in a press release sent to the media on Friday (July 11) on behalf of the unsuccessful candidates of the SSC exam 2025 batch. They were told that they failed only because they scored 1-2 marks less in the MCQ section. Although their marks in the essay section were more than 40 to 50. As a result, they were dropped from the educational program for a year. Due to the separate passing rules for essay and MCQ, about six lakh students failed this year. This rule is inhuman. It has been implemented without reforming the education system.

They also said that if supplementary exams are arranged for students who have failed in three subjects within the next 1-2 months, most of them will pass. This will save students from mental breakdown and being neglected by society. When asked why the pass rate and the number of students getting GP-5 were low, Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Dhaka Board Chairman Professor Dr. Khandokar Ehsanul Kabir said, the results that have been published are real and true. No one has been asked to give any additional marks. Overall, the results this time have revealed the real picture. We will not say what happened before.

However, the information that we have given now is real. What happened has been presented. We have no hand in this. There was no pressure from any quarters on us. We have been told that we will have to give whatever the result is. We have also made this request to the examiners. They have been asked to evaluate the books properly.

It is worth noting that an average of 68.45 percent of students passed this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations. 6 lakh 660 candidates failed in this. Most of the students failed in mathematics. No candidate from 134 educational institutions across the country could pass, last year this number was 51. And the pass rate in 984 educational institutions is 100 percent.
