13th National Parliament Resumes Session Today After Eid Holidays

After the 14-day Eid-ul-Fitr holiday, the 13th National Parliament will resume its first session today at 3:00 PM, marking the third sitting since the current parliament began on March 12.

Earlier, on March 15, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed had declared the parliamentary session adjourned until March 29 due to the Eid holidays.

Agenda for Today:

One of the key highlights of today’s session will be the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s speech. A total of 50 hours has been allocated for this discussion in the first sitting of the 13th Parliament.

Additionally, there will be a question-and-answer segment in the afternoon, where members of parliament will raise questions regarding several important government departments and ministries, including:

  • Prime Minister’s Office
  • President’s Office
  • Election Commission
  • Ministry of Youth and Sports
  • Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives

The session will also include discussions on urgent notices submitted by parliament members under Rule 71 of the parliamentary procedure, allowing three members to bring public-interest notices.

Following the general elections in February, this parliament has begun its five-year term. Today’s session is expected to restore full momentum to parliamentary activities after the Eid break.
