Former U.S. President Donald Trump has said the ongoing war with Iran could end “soon,” claiming that American forces have already inflicted significant damage during the conflict.
In an interview with Axios, Trump described the military campaign as progressing rapidly and effectively.
“The war is going tremendously well,” Trump said.
He also suggested that the scale of destruction has exceeded expectations and that the operation is ahead of schedule.
“We are far ahead of schedule. We’ve done more damage than we thought possible, even within the original six-week timeframe.”
Trump further claimed that the military has already destroyed most of its intended targets.
“There is virtually nothing left to target,” he added.
However, analysts say Trump’s objectives in the war have shifted several times, raising questions about the administration’s long-term strategy.
At the same time, public opinion polls in the United States show that many Americans oppose the conflict, indicating growing domestic concern over the ongoing war.
