A protest rally was held at the Chattogram Press Club on Monday evening to voice strong opposition against US imperialism and Israeli “Zionist aggression,” demanding the protection of national sovereignty and global peace.
The demonstration, organized by the Chattogram Metropolitan and University branch of the Bangladesh Chhatra Federation, drew activists and speakers who condemned military interventions in the Middle East, characterizing them as threats to global stability.
During the event, speakers emphasized that US-led military policies are escalating instability in the Middle East and endangering world peace. They called for an immediate cessation of war policies, asserting their support for the right of nations to self-determination.
The rally featured prominent voices, including Shaukat Osman Toukir from the Chatra Federation, Chattogram Metropolitan; Palash Dey, Member Secretary of the Chatra Federation, Chattogram University; and Mohammad Obaidullah. Also in attendance were Jahedul Islam and Shahid Shimul, Joint Coordinators of the Ganosamhati Andolan, Chattogram Metropolitan, as well as Nurunnesa Munni, Convener of the Nari Samhati, Chattogram District.
Speakers urged the public to maintain national unity and solidarity in the struggle against imperialism. They further called upon the government to prioritize national interests by withdrawing from “subservient agreements” with the United States. The event concluded with a call for strengthened international solidarity and a unified resistance to advocate for global peace.
