China Slams U.S.-Israeli Strikes on Iran as ‘Law of the Jungle,’ Pledges Strategic Support

China has issued a scathing condemnation of the military operations conducted by the United States and Israel against Iran, describing the actions as a violation of international norms equivalent to the “law of the jungle.” In a decisive show of diplomatic solidarity, Beijing has pledged its full support for Tehran’s sovereignty and security.

The statements were reported by Chinese state media outlets CCTV and Xinhua on Monday (March 2).

Diplomatic Call to Action

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi clarified Beijing’s stance during a high-stakes telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. During the call, Wang Yi emphasized that China places the highest importance on the historic friendship between the two nations.

“China stands firmly in support of Iran’s sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and national dignity,” Wang Yi stated. “Beijing will continue to stand by Tehran in safeguarding its legitimate rights and interests.”

Warning Against Regional Escalation

The Chinese Foreign Minister issued a stern warning to Washington and Tel Aviv, urging an immediate cessation of military operations. He highlighted the grave risk of the conflict spiraling out of control.

  • Immediate Halt: China demanded an end to the strikes to prevent further loss of life and instability.
  • Regional Stability: Wang Yi warned that continued aggression threatens to engulf the entire Middle East in a broader, more devastating war.

Critique of International Order

By characterizing the military intervention as the “law of the jungle,” Beijing has signaled its rejection of unilateral military actions that bypass the United Nations framework. This rhetoric underscores China’s role as a primary diplomatic counterweight to Western influence in the Middle East.
