Shakib Fans Storm Dudok, File Complaint Against Asif Amid Mob Chaos

In an unexpected turn of events, a group of supporters of former national cricket captain and ex-MP Shakib Al Hasan created a “mob-like” situation at the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC/Dudok) headquarters on Thursday. The group forcibly submitted a written complaint against Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, the former Youth and Sports Adviser of the erstwhile interim government.

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon (February 26) at the ACC’s main office in Segunbagicha. According to Dudok sources, a group of 20 to 30 individuals suddenly gathered at the premises, chanting slogans in favour of Shakib Al Hasan.

Disruption of Official Duties

Witnesses stated that the group entered the office and demanded that the authorities accept a formal corruption complaint against Asif Mahmud. The situation quickly escalated as the group reportedly exerted intense pressure on officials, disrupting the normal administrative flow of the office.

To prevent further chaos and ensure the safety of the premises, relevant departments were forced to accept the written application.

Official Response from Dudok

An official from the commission, speaking on the condition of anonymity, described the atmosphere as chaotic.

“A group of people entered the office, created a commotion, and forced the concerned officials to receive their complaint.”

The official further clarified the legal status of the submission:

“The complaint, which was filed anonymously, has been kept for observation. A submission does not automatically lead to an investigation or a case.

“We will verify and scrutinize this forced submission according to the law. If no specific data, evidence, or truth is found, it will be dismissed immediately. Only if credible evidence is found will we proceed with the next steps.”

Current Status

The ACC has not yet officially moved the complaint to the investigation stage. The commission emphasized that while the document was received under duress to maintain order, it will undergo the standard verification process required for all allegations.
