Abdur Rashid Jitu, the Vice President (VP) of the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU), has officially joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
The formal joining took place on Friday at the BNP’s central office in Naya Paltan. The ceremony was attended by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, alongside the central leadership of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal.
Speaking on his decision, Abdur Rashid Jitu emphasized his vision for the country, stating:
“I have decided to work under the banner of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party to contribute toward building a beautiful and democratic Bangladesh.”
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi welcomed the student leader, noting that Abdur Rashid Jitu was accompanied by several other elected representatives from Jahangirnagar University’s hall unions. Rizvi remarked that the arrival of these young leaders would significantly strengthen the party’s grassroots connection with the student community.
The induction of the JUCSU VP marks a notable shift in campus politics, as the central student union remains a vital platform for future national leadership.
