PsychTalks Dialogue 2025 was held on October 10 at the Theatre Institute Chittagong, marking World Mental Health Day with a series of sessions, discussions, and dialogues centered on emotional well-being, psychological awareness, and collective resilience.
The event brought together mental health professionals, researchers, young participants, and psychology enthusiasts, creating a rare public space for constructive conversations around mental health in Bangladesh.
Two major sessions took place during the programme. Mahi Mahajabin led “Emotion Regulation: Becoming Emotionally Intelligent”, exploring tools to better understand and manage emotions. Asaduzzaman Joy, a content creator, spoke on “Social Media Burnout”, reflecting on the psychological impact of constant digital engagement and ways to navigate it mindfully.
A panel discussion featuring Sharmin Akter and Md Abdullah Al Noman addressed contemporary mental health challenges and practical ways to overcome them, focusing on the importance of empathy, support networks, and accessible care.
One of the most anticipated segments of the day was a dialogue session titled “Collective Trauma and Resistance: An Anthropological Reading of the July Uprising”, conducted by Dr. Moshreka Aditi Huq, Associate Professor, Department of Anthropology, University of Chittagong. Her talk examined how collective trauma shapes social consciousness and resistance movements in Bangladesh.
As media partner, Gonotaar joined the initiative alongside storytelling agency The Crows to amplify voices and stories from the event. The programme concluded with a prize-giving ceremony for participants, closing on a note of solidarity and shared commitment to mental health advocacy.
